Community of Practice

WHAT IS A COMMUNITY OF PRACTICE?

A Community of Practice (CoP) is a community of people who share a common interest in a certain area.  The community provides its members who may come from different backgrounds with an opportunity to exchange knowledge, skills, experiences and information.  Through these interactions, members in the community give and receive support and advice in person and virtually.

Tempe Community Council’s CoP brings together nonprofit partners, City of Tempe staff and community volunteers in conversation about human services priorities and practice.

UPCOMING SESSIONS

Join us in the conversation, share your experience and knowledge, exchange, explore, collaborate, and learn from others working to address the various issues and populations being served daily.  The 2025 fall schedule is now posted.  Register for discussion meetings and networking opportunities.

Fall meetings will focus on:

  • 2025 Comprehensive Tempe Health and Human Services Needs Assessment results
  • 2025-2026 Agency Review funding prioritization
  • Aligning with the Social Determinants of Health framework
  • Incentives for collaboration

About the Fall Schedule

People and programs—like their challenges—don’t always fit neatly into categories. However, we ask that you attend the session that best describes the primary focus area of your funded program or agency.  These groupings will differ from our usual convenings, but we hope they’ll offer new connections, fresh perspectives, and spark innovative partnership ideas.

You only need to attend one session.

Community of Practice Sessions
