Each tax season, Arizona families miss out on millions of dollars in tax refunds because they are unaware of programs like the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC), a refundable federal income tax credit eligible to low-income working individuals and families. The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program is designed to change this by providing families with the knowledge and guidance to lessen their financial burden. TCC’s Tempe Financial Stability Initiative works in collaboration with Arizona State University’s W.P. Carey School of Business, the Internal Revenue Service and Gracie’s Village to operate a VITA program in our area.
Did you earn less than $64,000 (single or combined) last year OR are a senior age 65+, veteran or person with a disability?
Let us prepare your taxes for you at our Tempe VITA tax site.
Two options available this tax season, both require appointments and involve limited contact – no walk-ins accepted:
In-Person (Same Day) Taxes – Client brings tax documents to tax site, completes intake and consent forms, taxes are prepared on-site with client present to review, sign and e-file the tax return.
Drop-Off Taxes – Client brings tax documents to tax site, completes the intake and consent forms which are reviewed by a tax volunteer. The tax return is completed when tax site is closed, without the client being present, but will return at a later date to review and sign their return.
All appointments are scheduled online and become available through our website on Tuesday, January 16, after 8:00 a.m. Appointments will be available for our free tax services being offered starting January 29 through April 13, 2024.
Note: International/non-resident students who need to file a tax return, click here. Please do not schedule an in-person or virtual tax appointment.
